The Tissue Culture Laboratory

About the Facility

The Tissue Culture Laboratory (TCL) is operated under the auspices of the Higuchi Biosciences Center of Excellence at the University of Kansas.

The TCL provides tissue culture services to research scientists and commercial clients in any discipline. The laboratory also provides supervised facilities for University of Kansas scientists who wish to do their own tissue culture work. All services are provided at a reduced cost for members of the Higuchi Biosciences Center. Other Research Scientists in any discipline may utilize the facility at the nonmember rate.

The TCL and its equipment are located in Malott Hall, Rooms 5007 & 5048 on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence. The TCL office is located in Malott Room 5048 and the main laboratory is located in Malott Room 5007. The main laboratory is a 900 square-foot dedicated facility equipped with a positive pressure air ventilation system.

With prior approval, the utilization of the facility or any component of the facility may be requested for the purpose of grant submission. This could allow greater capability or increased support for grant submissions. Each request is handled on an individual basis. Assistance in grant writing and budgeting can also be provided.
