We are pleased to to have held the third Great Plains Regional Annual Symposium on Protein and Biomolecular NMR (GRASP-NMR 2009)on September 25-26, 2009, at the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, KS. GRASP-NMR 2009 is a regional symposium that focuses on macromolecular NMR applications and techniques. The goal of the meeting is to bring together researchers with an interest in the application of NMR to the study of biological macromolecules. Growth in the area of macromolecular structure and function has continued in our region, and one of our goals is to help further interconnect and strengthen NMR research in our vicinity.

We hope you will consider participating in future meetings to share your latest results and to get to know new colleagues. All interested individuals are welcome to participate. We look forward to welcoming diverse groups from various departments and backgrounds to this meeting to share their expertise.

We were again fortunate to have support for the symposium provided by the NIH-COBRE Center in Protein Structure and Function at the University of Kansas and the Higuchi Biosciences Center, Bruker, Cambridge Isotope Labs and Isotec. As a result of their generous contributions, the cost of attending GRASP was nominal, which made the meeting accessible to all who wanted to participate. The registration fee provided entrance to presentations and included all meals listed on the schedule of events. Registered participants were encouraged to submit an abstract and present a poster, which was included with registration.

You will soon be able to view photographs of this year's event online. We thank all who attended for an excellent meeting.

Best Regards,

Jennifer Laurence
